Arranged Dates

I don’t think it is blind so I call it “arranged date”. I knew the term “blind date” not too long after I started to learn English from the textbook “Family Album USA”.

At the very beginning, I was resistant because I simply wanna do it myself. But I gladly accepted the very first chance with no resistance in order to get rid of being alone soon. However, it was bad. I was furious after that and got rather resistant to more arranged dates by parents.

As time went on, I became open again. In the last year, several dates like this were arranged by my parents. I don’t wanna talk about every single one of them but one needs to be emphasised.

As long as they only made the introduction without further interrogation, I was quite open to any arranged date. This one is cross-border. Her name is Miko. We talked quite a lot before our first and only meet. However, everything stopped after that date and I have no idea. When I got back home, mom told me that Johnny Yang rejected Jian Jie with the same excuse that I rejected Miko. What? What reason? What excuse? Did I ever reject Miko? Did I ever rejected anyone? Mom said Johnny’s reason was that he would go to the USA in the future and mine was that I would go to the FR in the future. That’s funny.

In this sense, this is really a blind date.
